The Annual Compliance Review was first introduced in 2004, and continues to be completed yearly in accordance with Rules 5.1 and 5.2 of the Fisheries Commission Rules of Procedure. The scope of the review is to determine how international fisheries complied with the annually updated NAFO Conservation and Enforcement Measures when fishing in the NAFO Regulatory Area, and assess the performance of NAFO Contracting Parties with regard to their reporting obligations. The format of the compliance review is being continuously developed by the Standing Committee on International Control (STACTIC).
