The most important publication by Fisheries Commission is the NAFO Conservation and Enforcement Measures (CEM) that regulate the fisheries in the international waters (outside the coastal 200 miles Exclusive Economic Zone) of the Northwest Atlantic. The CEM are in force for one calendar year and are revised and ammended every year at the Annual Meeting. Since 2004, they contain the NAFO Scheme to Promote Compliance by Non-Contracting Party vessels (Chapter VIII).
The meeting reports of the Fisheries Commission and its Standing Committee on International Control (STACTIC) are published annually in the NAFO Meeting Proceedings. All relevant documents resulting from these meetings are included as annexes in the Meeting Proceedings. Fisheries Commission Documents are also available below.
NAFO also annually conducts a Compliance Report and information about this is available.
Fishery statistics are maintained by the NAFO Secretariat as electronic databases. Records start as early as 1960.
NAFO Fisheries Commission Documents are published in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. Click on the + sign and select the READ MORE button when you expand the selection.
