Mooring Information

Operators should be aware that two moorings were deployed in July 2016 for a 1-year period by JASCO Applied Sciences. The moorings each hold an acoustic recording device designed to detect whale presence and will be retrieved in August 2017. The moorings are located at the following coordinates.

A single point approximately 0.31 metres in diameter at approximately 1200 metres depth, with a buoy system floating approximately 30 metres above the sea floor.

A single point approximately 0.31 metres in diameter at approximately 1550 metres depth, with a buoy system floating approximately 30 metres above the sea floor.


Operators  should be aware that three moorings were deployed in April 2014 for a 1-year period by a company, AMEC under contract to Statoil.  These moorings are on the south side of Sackville Spur at the following locations.
